Today, she’s a Professor at the Nutrition and Public Health Masters of IDIP (La Plata Pediatric Research Institute) and also at UCEL University in Rosario City (Universidad del Centro educativo latinoamericano).
The Pediatric Obesity Program supports multi-level partnerships with health professionals, community organizations, schools and local governments. Mantilla and the team target childhood obesity and inactivity throughout the Mid-South through a multifaceted approach incorporating a Healthy Lifestyle Clinic, metabolic and clinical research and community partnerships.
She developed and implemented similar community programs at the University of Miami. Mantilla received a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Ph D in kinesiology and exercise science from the University of Miami.
Her current studies and investigation lines are centered in intake and energy expenditure in Latin America.
